LEARNING
PLATFORM
Access to the Practical Tester learning platform is obtained after registering on the platform, you will have one year to make the first access and then 30 days to use the platform.
The Practical Tester platform is an AI-powered learning application designed to bridge the gap between theoretical knowledge and practical skills in software testing. The user interface is intuitive and AI-driven, with real-world test scenarios that allow you to practice essential testing techniques. The focus is on the acquisition of operational skills rather than simple memorization of notions, moving from traditional multiple-choice quizzes to open-ended exercises with personalized feedback.
The Browse Questions section allows you to access a set of questions prepared on each of the topics covered on the platform, aligned with ISTQB® Foundation.
You can select the topic you want to explore, navigate through the proposed questions, answer the questions (they are all open-ended questions) and submit your answer to the system.
The platform provides you with practically immediate, dynamic and personalized feedback: detailed explanations of the correct answers and targeted suggestions to improve your testing approach.
You can answer all the questions proposed by the system, check the answers and the score assigned by the AI platform, delve into any aspects marked as weak and subsequently repeat your test to verify the achievement of the maximum score. In this way you can refine your ability to manage the approach to each of the proposed techniques in real situations, and perhaps by carrying out an exam simulation, verify your ability to correctly answer 15 questions in 60 minutes, thus preparing yourself for the final certification exam, if you have this goal.
The proposed techniques are the following:
- Equivalence partitions to derive test cases
- Boundary value analysis to derive test cases
- Decision tables to derive test cases
- State transition tests to derive test cases
- Prioritization of test cases
- Acceptance test-driven development to derive test cases
- Creation of a defect report
- Estimation techniques to calculate the required testing effort
- Practical objectives for creating test cases
- Creation of a test plan
The Practical Tester exam simulation allows you to simulate a certification exam, which is particularly useful for understanding whether you are ready to answer 15 open questions in 60 minutes, which are exercises on the topics listed above. At the end of the simulation (or the time available), the platform provides the result obtained, with detailed explanations of the score assigned and an indication of any areas for improvement.
Finally, the Training Session section allows you to connect to a session managed by a training provider who has provided access, to be guided in managing the learning platform by an accredited teacher.
The section Select a Topic and you will be presented with a question about the subject allows you to review or delve deeper into the topic from a theoretical point of view, taking up the contents of the ISTQB Foundation Level, through the Learn more button and to practice immediately afterwards by clicking on the Train button, which will ask you a question on the topic. By answering the question, also in this case the AI-based platform will provide a complete evaluation of the correctness of the answer provided, giving indications on any areas for improvement.

CERTIFICATION
EXAM
The Practical Tester by A4Q certification exam, an ISTQB add-on, uses the same platform for remote examination in Remote Proctored mode used for the other exams made available by ITA-STQB.
The methods of registering, scheduling and taking the exam are therefore the same.
However, the type of exam and the methods with which the exam results are provided change.
In this case, it is an exam with 15 open-text questions, with open answers, to be answered in 60 minutes.
At the end of the exam, the result is not provided immediately, as the answers sent must be evaluated by an expert, who assigns a score from 0 to 100% to each answer. The overall score is therefore the result of assigning the score to each question, which has its weight on the overall score, which must be at least 65% to pass the exam.
The result and outcome of the exam are then communicated within 5 working days after the exam date.
To get an idea of the certification exam, you can take one or more exam simulations using the learning platform already described above.
